90 percent of the people I talk to in TikTok Shop still do not know what an MCP is. That is not a knock on them. The acronym is bad and most of the explanations online are written for developers. This is the simplest explanation I could give, the one even my 1st grade cousin could follow.
What is an MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. Forget the name. What it does is connect Claude's brain to another software.
Without an MCP, Claude can only work with what you paste into the chat. It cannot see your Cruva account, your Slack, or your spreadsheets. It is smart, but it is locked in a room with no windows.
